The Beginning
1959
- W. Ransom Kelley, M.D. finishes residency and starts practicing at Southside District Hospital located at 21 South Hibbert in Mesa, AZ.
- Associated Radiology Limited (ARL) is formed.
Growth + 1st Outpatient Office
1960s
- 1962 – Robert Green, M.D. joins practice.
- 1964 – Mesa Lutheran Hospital opens.
- 1965 – Richard Van Buskirk, M.D. joins practice.
- 1965 – ARL is incorporated.
- 1968 – First outpatient office (North Office) opens at 450 W. 5th Place. This office later moved across the street from Mesa Lutheran Hospital.

1970s
- 1973 – Southside District Hospital closes and is replaced by Desert Samaritan (now called Banner Desert)
- 1974 – Dr. Cohen joins group bringing his imaging center, the “South Office” adjacent to Desert Samaritan.
- Drs. Traicoff, Coppa, Silvey, Geyser, Wickman, Fleischman, and McCall join the practice.
EVDI
1980s
- 1984 – Valley Lutheran Hospital (now Banner Baywood) opens.
- 1986 – Imaging Centers become East Valley Diagnostic Imaging (EVDI).
- 1986 – South Office adds CT, Nuclear Medicine, mammography and ultrasound.
- 1989 – East Mesa Imaging Center opens adjacent to Valley Lutheran Hospital.
- Drs. Kornreich, Junck, and others join practice.
- Dean Marks, CPA and Dawn Demmer, CPA hired as practice managers.

- 1992 – EVDI converts from corporation to Limited Liability Company.
- 1999 – Lutheran and Samaritan hospital systems merge to form Banner Health.
- EVDI opens several new imaging center offices in the late 90s and early 2000s
Changing Times
2000s
- Banner Heart Hospital opens on the Baywood Campus
- Banner Cardon Children’s Hospital opens on the Banner Desert Campus
- 2007 – Banner Mesa (formerly Mesa Lutheran) closes
- December 2005 – Deficit Reduction Act imposes severe reductions in technical reimbursement of outpatient imaging centers, shifting our strategy toward hospital based radiology services.
- Original women’s center closes and moves into our old “South Office” on Banner Desert campus.
Banner Imaging, Radiology Partners
2010s
- Ironwood Cancer and Research Center becomes an exclusive, fast-growing client.
- 2014 – ARL merges with SMIL and Valley to form Southwest Diagnostic Imaging (SDI), making it the a leading private radiology practice in the nation.
- 2014 – Banner Gateway after-hours coverage is added.
- 2017 – EVDI acquires Country Club office from a competitor leaving the market.
- 2017 – Banner Ironwood and Goldfield are added.
- 2017 – Banner Casa Grande is added
- December 2017 – SDI joins Radiology Partners (RP), a leading radiology practice.
- 2019 – EVDI and Valley Radiology Imaging Centers acquired by Banner Imaging.
